Through faith in Jesus Christ, God not only forgives us—He welcomes us as His beloved children.
We do not earn a place in God’s family through good works or religious effort. Adoption is a gift of grace received through faith in Christ.
Welcomed in Love
God planned our adoption through Jesus Christ.
God receives us in love, gives us a new identity, and makes us members of His family.
God Is Our Father
Because we are adopted, we may approach God as our Father.
We come to Him with reverence, but not as strangers. We may bring Him our fears, needs, failures, and hopes because He loves and hears His children.
Our feelings may change, but God’s fatherly love remains secure.
Corrected for Our Good
God’s love also includes discipline.
He corrects us not to reject us, but to make us holy. His discipline is evidence that He is committed to our growth.
Part of a New Family
Every believer becomes part of God’s household.
Christians are brothers and sisters in Christ. We are called to love, encourage, forgive, and serve one another.
Heirs of an Eternal Inheritance
As God’s children, we are also His heirs.
Our present lives may include suffering and loss, but our future with God is secure. He will bring His children home and give them everlasting life with Him.
What We Have Learned
- God adopts everyone who receives Christ through faith.

What We Are Called to Do
- Receive God’s love instead of trying to earn it.
- Approach Him honestly in prayer.
- Trust His care and respond humbly to His correction.
- Love and serve other believers.
- Live with hope as an heir of His kingdom.
