In Jesus Christ, you are forgiven—and called to a new life.
You cannot earn forgiveness through good works. It is God’s gift, purchased by Jesus through his death and resurrection.
But grace does not leave you unchanged. The grace that forgives you also teaches you to turn from sin and follow Christ.
Forgiven to Follow Jesus
Jesus did not die so that sin could be taken lightly. He died to free you from its guilt and power.
When you trust in Christ:
- You belong to him.
- Your old life is no longer your master.
- You are called to obey and follow Jesus.
You do not obey God to earn forgiveness. You obey because you have been forgiven, made new, and given the Holy Spirit.
Genuine faith produces repentance—a continuing decision to reject sin and follow Christ.
When You Sin
Christians still stumble, but they do not make peace with sin.
When you sin:
- Do not excuse it.
- Do not hide it.
- Confess it honestly.
- Turn from it.
- Ask God to help you obey.
God’s forgiveness is not permission to continue in rebellion. It is mercy that restores you so that you can rise, resist sin, and continue following Jesus.
Walk in Your New Life
You are saved by grace, but you are saved for a transformed life.
- Read God’s Word.
- Pray.
- Obey what God teaches.
- Turn quickly from sin.
- Depend on the Holy Spirit.
When you fail, return to Christ—but never become comfortable with the sin for which he died.
You have been forgiven, made new, and called to live as one who belongs to Jesus.
