Who God Is: Your Loving Father
The Christian life begins with knowing God. He is the eternal Creator and sovereign King, yet through Jesus Christ, He brings you near and welcomes you into His family.
God Is Great—and He Is Near
God is eternal, unchanging, all-powerful, and perfectly wise. He created you, knows you completely, and sees what you cannot see. His greatness means He is able to care for you; His love means He is willing.
God is not distant from His children. He hears you when you pray, remains faithful when life changes, and stays near when you are afraid.
God Is Your Father and Savior
You do not become God’s child by being good enough. Sin separated you from Him, but Jesus died for your sins and rose again. When you trust in Christ, God forgives you, reconciles you to Himself, and brings you into His family.
Your relationship with God rests on what Jesus has done—not on how strong, worthy, or spiritual you feel.
God Leads and Rules Your Life
God is your Shepherd. He guides you through His Word, restores you when you wander, and walks with you through difficult seasons.
He is also your King. Following Jesus means surrendering your life to His authority. His commands are not meant to harm you, but to lead you away from sin and into truth, freedom, and holiness.
God Is Your Refuge, Provider, and Defender
When life becomes frightening or uncertain, you can run to God. He gives strength, peace, and grace to endure.
He knows what you need and provides according to His wisdom. This does not mean you will avoid hardship or receive everything you desire. It means your Father will remain faithful and give you what you need to follow Him.
God also guards your soul. He strengthens you against temptation, helps you resist the enemy, and keeps you secure in Christ.
God Gives You a New Identity and Hope
Your past, failures, feelings, and other people’s opinions no longer define you. In Christ, you are forgiven, accepted, chosen, and being changed.
God is also your faithful friend. You can speak honestly with Him, bring Him your fears, confess your sins, and depend on His presence.
Your future is secure in His hands. Even when you do not understand what He is doing, you can trust His character, His promises, and His unfailing love.
How Should You Respond?
- Trust Him when you do not understand.
- Pray to Him honestly and consistently.
- Listen to Him by reading His Word.
- Obey Him because He is your King.
- Return to Him when you sin or wander.
- Depend on Him for strength to grow.
Remember This
God is infinitely great, yet He has brought you near through Jesus. He is your Father, Savior, Shepherd, King, Refuge, Provider, Defender, and Hope. Learn to know Him, trust Him, and follow Him one day at a time.
