Jesus: God Who Walked Among Us

Jesus: God Who Walked Among Us

God became a man to conquer sin, death, and bring us back to God.

Jesus is not simply a historical figure, a moral teacher, or a spiritual influencer—He is God Himself entering the human story. Scripture reveals Him as the eternal Son who took on flesh to rescue us from our sin, restore us to the Father, and bring everlasting life. His coming was not random or optional—it was the loving plan of God to save a world that could not save itself.

1. The Eternal Son Who Became Human

Before Jesus was born in Bethlehem, He already existed as the eternal Son of God. He is not created, not a mere prophet, and not a lesser deity—He is fully God.

“In the beginning was the Word…and the Word was God.”— John 1:1
“He is the image of the invisible God.”— Colossians 1:15
“The Word became flesh and dwelt among us.”— John 1:14

When Jesus entered the world, He did not begin—He arrived. God stepped into time, wrapped Himself in humanity, and lived among the people He created.

He came near so we could know God personally—His heart, His character, His truth, His love.

2. Why Jesus Came: To Rescue a World Lost in Sin

Humanity’s greatest problem is not education, politics, or technology—it is sin. Sin separates us from God, bends our desires, corrupts our relationships, and leads ultimately to death. We cannot fix ourselves, pay off our guilt, or reach God by effort.

Jesus came because we needed a Savior.

“Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners.”— 1 Timothy 1:15
“The Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”— Luke 19:10

He came because God so loved the world—not to condemn us, but to rescue us from what we could never escape on our own.

3. How Jesus Saves Us: His Life, Death, and Resurrection

Jesus did not save us through inspiring words or acts of kindness alone. He saved us through His perfect obedience and His sacrificial death.

His Life:

Jesus lived the sinless life we were created to live—completely righteous, completely obedient, completely pure.

His Death:

On the cross, He took our place, bearing our sin, absorbing our judgment, paying our debt.

“He Himself bore our sins in His body on the tree.”— 1 Peter 2:24

His Resurrection:

Three days later, He rose bodily from the grave—conquering death, defeating darkness, and proving that His sacrifice was enough.

“He is not here, for He has risen.”— Matthew 28:6

His resurrection is the guarantee that those who trust Him will also rise to eternal life.

4. What Jesus Offers Us Today

Because Jesus is alive and reigning, He offers every person:

  • Forgiveness of sins
  • A restored relationship with God
  • New identity as children of God
  • The indwelling Holy Spirit
  • Freedom from guilt and shame
  • Power to live a changed life
  • Eternal life with Him

Salvation is not earned—it is received by grace through faith.

Jesus came so that we would not remain separated, lost, or spiritually dead. He came to give abundant life now and everlasting life forever.

5. Our Response: Trusting the One Who Came to Save Us

Jesus did everything necessary for our salvation—but each person must respond.

The right response is:

  • Admitting our sin
  • Believing that Jesus is God’s Son
  • Trusting His death and resurrection alone for salvation
  • Turning to Him in faith

To trust Jesus is to embrace Him as Savior and follow Him as Lord.

He walked among us so we could walk with Him.
